How does Propecia work?
Propecia works by preventing the growth of 5-Alpha-Reductase. This prevents the formation of DHT. DHT, or Di-hydrotestosterone, is present in higher levels in men who suffer from male pattern hair loss.
What is DHT?
DHT, or Di-hydrotestosterone, is a male hormone principally responsible for the development of the external male genitals. Along with male pattern hair loss, it has been linked to prostate enlargement and acne.
Is Propecia proven to work?
Everyone is different. Propecia may work for some but not for all. If you are not happy with results you should consult with your doctor. He may advise you to try another treatment. Do not increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.
Propecia Dosages
The recommended dose is one 1mg tablet taken daily. If for any reason you miss out a dose, do not take two to compensate. No benefit will be gained in taking more than the recommended daily dose. Continue with your next dose as normal.
How quickly will I see results?
Most patients see results within three months. However this can vary from patient to patient. Some patients have also seen an improvement in the condition and thickness of their hair.
Can Women and Children use Propecia?
No. Propecia is for men only.

So far tests have not revealed any complications caused by taking Propecia with other medication.
What are the side affects of taking Propecia?
In tests, fewer than 2% suffered sexual side effects which may be attributable to the placebo effect. All side effects ceased upon discontinuation of the treatment.
